I am nowhere near as disciplined as some other photographers who manage to find the time to update their blogs daily and provide a blow-by-blow account of their year. I tend to add posts whenever things spring to mind or, as in this case, whevener a particular wedding is brought to mind by something else. (Having said that, if I believed in making New Years resolutions, I am sure I would be promising to myself that I should add things here more regularly than I do...). On Christmas eve I handed over the hefty album for this wedding (at 50 pages it was a pretty comprehensive collection of pictures) to Drew who was going to keep it a surprise until Christmas day to show Diane.
I had the pleasure of shooting Drew and Diane's wedding way back in August at the
Houston House Hotel, somewhere I have worked many times before. The weather that day (clearly one of my personal obsessions, perhaps on account of my line of work...) couldn't have been sunnier, or hotter. After the ceremony we all spilled out onto the lawn where I spent a very pleasant afternoon walking around taking pictures of everybody enjoying themselves.
Drew and Diane are such lovely people and working with them on their wedding day just reconfirmed to me why I enjoy doing what I do so much! They sent me the following very kind email during the Christmas holidays:
"To say we are absolutely delighted is the understatement of the year – your photography is absolutely superb! The album itself, the photographs, and the manner in which you have arranged it all, is simply breathtaking!!! The combination of black & white and colour photographs is amazing, and we adore the entire album. Thanks for making our Big Day special and the way you have captured it all will certainly be remembered forever!"
