What do I photograph when I am not at weddings?

People always ask me when I am working "so, what do you photograph apart from weddings?". The answer is really, just about anything.

Certainly my main busniess is devoted entirely to photographing weddings but, as a photographer, I am often called upon to photograph other bits and bobs for people. My wife is a portrait artist (www.fionawilson.net) and she is always asking me to shoot her models for her to paint from. Also, a lot of our friends are burlesque performers and they just love having pictures of themselves (they're generally a very vain bunch...). I also take advantage of being self-employed (unlimited annual leave) and travel a lot, taking pictures along the way of course.

The photographs here are of a model and burlesque performer Vendetta Vain - she wanted some pictures of herself in her latex dress and Fiona wanted her to model for her in a lovely long coat that she has for a painting, so a deal was struck and here are some of the results.

Personally I think that it is a real shame that more brides don't wear latex dresses on their wedding day - it wouldn't matter if you lost or gained a bit of weight before the big day, the dresses are easily cleaned when your grannie spills red wine down your back (happens more often than you'd imagine) and, especially important in Scotland, when it rains it won't matter as you can just dry it off. I'm just not entirely sure that the parents would approve.
